What does "adventure" mean to you? If you're like most, your answer is a little different than just about everyone else's. After all, one person can find a world of excitement while discovering great shopping, while another's heart might not skip a beat until tracking gorillas in Uganda.

There are times in each of our lives when our sense of adventure shifts to capture new interests. It's the highest adventure one year, say, to indulge in a week of wine tasting and cellar meetings with Italian vintners, yet the following year nothing but a family vacation will do ... perhaps whale-watching off Baja California.

And sometimes we want adventure by day and luxury by night, perfectly undertaken by deluxe, small ships cruising the coast of China or sailing among the isles of Indonesia.

Indeed, simply selecting one's next travel thrill can be an entire adventure in itself, with so much in this world from which to choose.
