If you’re cruising from Seattle this summer, why not spend a few extra days in this vibrant city? With its easy walkability and mild summer weather, it’ll be a delight to explore the sights of Seattle.

MoPOP
Of course, you know the Space Needle, but the MoPop right next door will be a highlight of your visit! Imagined by Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, this eclectic museum is like no other. From its wild architecture to its remarkable exhibits, you might find yourself on sensory overload. Music lovers will want to walk through the exhibits of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Jimi Hendrix. Explore myth and magic in the Fantasy exhibit. Even a non-trekkie will appreciate the Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction floor and its Star Trek memorabilia.

Chihuly Garden and Glass
All are sure to enjoy a visit to Chihuly Garden and Glass. Expect to be wowed by vibrant colors and intricate designs of the artwork in each themed room. During summer hours, visitors can also enjoy glass-blowing demonstrations and begin to understand the difficulty of this craft.

Cheap Fun in Pike Place Market
See the famous fish throwing fish mongers of Pike Place Market. There will be a crowd around their stall. When you’re walking through Post Alley, gawk at the grody Gum Wall. If you can find a spot, add your own chewed gum on the side of the Market Theater building.

Bring coins for Rachel the Pig, the bronze sculpted piggy bank and successful fundraiser for The Market Foundation. Find Rachel underneath the Public Market Clock and Sign at the corner of Pike Place. She has a cousin named Billie located at the bottom of the hill climb too.

And don’t forget to eat cheese. Watch cheese production and find Oprah’s favorite Mac and Cheese at Beecher’s Handmade Cheese. Make a stop at the Giant Shoe Museum and the Original Starbuck’s location to round out your visit to the Pike Place Market.

Orca Whale Sightings
For those with more time, add an Orca whale watch trip out to the San Juan Islands. Watch these majestic creatures in their natural habitat, which is always the most exciting way to view wildlife.
