European-based carrier Ryanair recently announced plans to decrease the number of aircraft it stations at its Dublin, Ireland hub. The new policy will take effect in the winter of 2018, and will decrease the airline’s fleet in Dublin from 30 aircraft to no more than 24. The airline cites the recent spate of strikes by Irish pilots as a catalyst for this decision, stating that the frequency of these strikes has begun to erode consumer confidence in the reliability of flights originating in Ireland. Ryanair noted that while they do not foresee any routes that include Dublin being eliminated completely, passengers may experience a decrease in the frequency of flights offered from the Irish capital.
