Boeing's New Planes are Fuel Savers

Boeing recently announced a new family of airplanes named 737 MAX. The new line will replace Boeing’s legendary 737s, in favor of a newer, all-around more comfortable plane, with features like extra spacious overhead compartments, redesigned light switches, and increased legroom.

Along with the new cabin features, the most important aspect of Boeing’s new design is how green it will be! Thanks to specially designed winglets that reduce drag and utilize quiet engine technology, the 737 MAX planes will be able to reduce fuel usage by a full 250 million pounds per 100 aircraft each year.

Since the 737 MAX is built more efficiently, it can also fly on longer routes. There’s no guarantee that airfares will be lowered accordingly, but trends have shown that reduced fuel costs translate to reduced airfare costs. This new aircraft is a clearly a win-win for passengers and the planet.
