QUEEN MARY 2

Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, the world’s only trans-Atlantic ocean liner, recently debuted after a $132 million dollar renovation, and it has us wanting to take the slow voyage from England to New York! Many of the new details were inspired by the original Queen Mary, which debuted back in 1936 (think grand ballrooms, waiters in red uniforms, and afternoon tea). The ship features a brand new central lobby, a huge dance floor, a planetarium, and wine cellar stocked with more than 450 different wines. Cunard also overhauled the restaurants onboard, with a new Verandah Grill (the one on the original Queen Mary was a popular dining spot for Winston Churchill, Fred Astaire, and Charlie Chaplin), Sir Samuel’s (a specialty coffee shop), a Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar, and an authentic British pub. There will also be two specialty restaurants – the Princess and Queens Grill – available only to guests who book certain suites. For the first time, the Queen Mary 2 also has rooms catering to single travelers.
