British Airways Does Away With Free Booze & In-Flight Meals

Economy passengers flying with British Airways on short-haul flights will no longer receive complimentary in-flight meals or drinks. Onboard meals will now be supplied by the upmarket grocery store chain, Marks & Spencer. Passengers looking to satisfy a hunger craving will be able to purchase items off the “M&S on Board” menu. The menu will feature sandwiches, chips, chocolate, tea, and coffee; passengers wishing to sip on something stronger than tea or coffee will have the option to order a can of beer or a mixed drink, such as a gin and tonic. Frequent fliers on British Airways will be able to use their frequent flier points towards food and beverage purchases; passengers without status will be able to pay using a credit or debit card.
