Delta Brings Back Complimentary Meals in Economy

Beginning this spring, Delta will offer complimentary economy-class meals on 12 transcontinental routes. Delta will become the first US carrier to offer complimentary economy-class meals since Continental in 2010. The meals will be introduced on flights between New York (JFK) and San Francisco and New York (JFK) and Los Angeles on March 1. Delta will expand the service to the remaining 10 routes on April 24. Those routes will include New York (JFK)-Portland, New York (JFK)-San Diego, New York (JFK)-Seattle, Boston-San Francisco, Boston-Los Angeles, Boston-Seattle, Washington DC (DCA)-Los Angeles, , Seattle-Fort Lauderdale, Seattle-Orlando and Seattle-Raleigh-Durham. Travelers will be able to choose either breakfast or lunch, depending on the time of day, with offerings including sandwiches, wraps, or a fruit and cheese plate. In addition to the complimentary meals, travelers in Delta Comfort Plus will also receive complimentary beer, wine, and spirits.
