Delta Air Lines announced it will be offering an international premium economy product by 2017. The new class announcement comes after American announced a similar offering late last year. Currently, the three major US airlines only offer extra legroom economy products. The premium economy product not only offers more legroom, but offers seats that are wider than regular economy, a deeper recline, and a higher level of service and meal quality. It is considered a separate class entirely from economy. With the divide becoming greater and greater between business and economy class, premium economy is a way for Delta to provide travelers with a service that falls in between.
