Princess Cruises and Cunard Line will begin offering same-sex weddings at sea following a Supreme Court of Bermuda ruling that marriage laws apply to same sex couples. Bermuda now authorizes captains to perform legal wedding ceremonies, following appropriate procedures under the maritime Marriage Act of 1999. Princess Cruises currently has 13 ships that are registered in Bermuda and plans on developing a range of services and amenities for same-sex couple ceremonies in Bermuda in the near future.

Cunard Cruise Line has married more than 250 couples on its ships over the past five years and offers same-sex weddings performed by its ship captain on its three iconic ships: Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth. The Cunard Wedding at Sea package includes a ceremony with floral arrangements, a copy of the marriage certificate, invitations, thank you notes, champagne for after the ceremony, a photographer, and the help of Cunard’s onboard wedding coordinator.
