With Miami-Dade county, MSC Cruises recently announced extended preferential berthing rights and the plans for a new cruise terminal at Port Miami, which currently serves as the Italian-based cruise line’s only home port in the United States.

The new Terminal AAA is expected to be completed in October of 2022 and will be large enough to accommodate MSC Cruises’ next generation of ships, the World Class, which can accommodate up to 7,000 guests. Under the agreement, MSC will now enjoy preferential berthing rights on Sundays, in addition to Saturdays.

In less than 18 months, MSC will operate four ships out of Port Miami, including the recently debuted MSC Seaside and MSC Divina, which sail to the Caribbean, the MSC Armonia sailing year-round to Havana, and the company’s largest ship, the MSC Meraviglia, which is set to be inaugurated in November 2019.
