Germany-based shipbuilder Meyer Werft will build two new vessels as part of the latest “Evolution Class” for Silversea. The first of these new ships is expected to arrive in 2022. Silversea touts the two ships as environmentally-friendly vessels for the ultra-luxury cruise market.

The cruise line also signed a contract with Dutch shipbuilder Shipyard De Hoop to construct a new expedition vessel, named Silver Origin, that will serve the Galápagos Islands itinerary currently sailed by Silver Galapagos. The new ship is expected for delivery in March 2020.
