Don’t make the mistake of skipping Auckland and go directly to your cruise ship. You’ll find plenty to do in and around this interesting city, making for a wonderful pre- or post-cruise extension.

Auckland’s City Center
Meander on your own or ask your FROSCH Travel Advisor to arrange a city center tour. You’ll enjoy visits to the Town Hall, Aotea Square, and Albert Park to name just a few of the sights to see. Of course, stop in the Vulcan Lane Pub for a pint or try another of Auckland’s many great restaurants and bars.

If time allows, make sure to plan a visit to the Auckland Museum. The Maori artifacts housed in this beautiful museum will be a highlight of your visit.

Waiheke Island
Hop on a ferry and head to this gorgeous island for hiking, wonderful vineyards, and fun in the sun on one of several picturesque beaches.

Black Sand Beaches
To see black sand beaches, you’ll want to make your way to Karekare or Piha. Admire the beautiful views then stop for lunch at The Hunting Lodge for a bite to eat (and delicious wine).

Get Your Adventure Thrills
Bungy jump off the Auckland Bridge, kayak, sail, surf or opt for something else that gets your adrenaline pumping. If you want something thrilling, then this is where you’ll find it. And remember, no trip to New Zealand is complete until you’ve done something truly out of your comfort zone.
