New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival
New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans is a city full of some of the best food, music, and history in the United States, there’s never a bad time to visit! But for jazz lovers, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is an experience like none other. This festival is perfect for multi-generational families with varied interests. The 2016 lineup includes classic artists like Stevie Wonder and rappers like Snoop Lion. Other performances by Neil Young, Lauryn Hill, Beck, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are also slated. You can enjoy these live performances with mouthwatering Southern dishes, and family friendly arts and crafts across the festival grounds, which are held at the Fair Ground Race Course, ten minutes from the city’s famous French Quarter.

700,000 music fans congregate in Mexico City for one of Central America’s longest-running music festivals, Vive Latino. Founded in 1998, the massive festival focuses on Spanish language acts of all genres from rap to rock to more traditional Latin American musical fare. Held in Mexico City’s Foro Sol stadium, this year’s lineup includes Ojo de Buey, Camila Moreno, Café Tacuba and many more. The festival also hosts dance, theater, and slam poetry performances in addition to the concerts. The festival offers visitors the perfect opportunity to explore Mexico City’s thriving arts, culture, and food scenes.

Quebec City Summer Festival
Quebec, Canada
July 7-17, 2016

Quebec City Summer Festival encompasses 300 events, 10 stages, and 11 days. The festival combines family and adult entertainment, a parade, street performances, and much more throughout all 11 days. Headliners this year include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sting, Peter Gabriel, amongst many others. This year, the festival is focusing on going “carbon neutral,” in order to reduce its ecological footprint and pursue sustainable development. It’s doing so by planting almost 4 acres worth of trees. 76% of the Festival suppliers will be local, and their food will be served on reusable dishes, which will be recycled along with all cans used during the festival. Public transportation is also being promoted; more bus routes will be added solely just for the festival and there will be a free bike parking lot right in the heart of the festival. Pretty awesome!

Benicassim
Benicassim, Spain
July 14-17, 2016

Known as one of the best music festivals in Europe, Benicassim is a festival not to miss. This year’s lineup includes artists such as Massive Attack, Kendrick Lamar, and the Chemical Brothers, just to name a few. Being in Spain, you can expect delicious food to be served throughout the festival’s grounds, but visitors should definitely venture into the city for fresh seafood and relaxing days on the beach.

Sziget
Budapest, Hungary
August 10-17, 2016

Sziget translates into “island” in Hungarian and this festival is one of Europe’s largest. As a festival attendee, you can expect to find multiple food stalls, a store, and a “ruin pub,” which are local to Budapest. There are multiple art installations to check out across the festival grounds, located on none other than an island! This year’s lineup includes David Guetta, Bloc Party, Sigur Ros, Muse and M83.
