AA Launches Gourmet Food Options

American Airlines is enlisting the help of chefs Julian Barsotti, Maneet Chauhan, Mark Sargeant, and Sam Choy. Barsotti, who operates three Dallas-based restaurants, will be responsible for revamping the domestic premium cabin meals. Chauhan, a Nashville-based chef, will take over the menus on departing international flights from the US. Sargeant, a British restaurateur, will be revamping meals from Europe to the US. Choy will oversee the menus on American’s recently launched Hawaii flights.

For the menu, American wants to use as many local ingredients as it can. The new menu options will only be available in first and business classes; however, the airlines state it is “always evaluating” food options in economy class. The new menus are a part of American’s $3 billion initiative to redesign customer offerings, which includes renovated airport lounges and higher WiFi speeds on its fleet.
