Amtrak unveils new Acela trains

Coming in 2021, Amtrak will introduce 28 new train sets, known as the Acela Express, that will provide passengers with more spacious seats and better Wi-Fi access. Passengers onboard the new trains are promised a smoother ride that will be comparable to the international high-speed train service. In addition to the roomier seats, each seat will be equipped with its own personal outlets, USB ports, and adjustable reading lights. The food service car will also get an upgrade, and the trains in general will have a more modern design.

More and more people are relying on Amtrak to get from Point A to Point B, which is why the company made the decision to modernize equipment and infrastructure to keep the region moving. The addition of the new train sets will bring a 40% increase to Amtrak’s fleet, allowing for service to be offered every half-hour between Washington, D.C. and New York City during peak times. Trains will also depart every hour between New York City and Boston throughout the day.
