Japan’s Airport Robots

While you savor that last bowl of ramen before boarding your flight at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport, you might notice some unusual new employees roaming around the tables to keep the area clean. The airport has recently introduced some of Panasonic’s HOSPI robots to collect used plates, clean tables, and serve drinks to travelers. The adorable robots also have screens that allow them to communicate with airport patrons. This is not the first time robots have been used in Japan’s airports; last year, Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport introduced the three-foot tall, EMIEW, designed to help passengers find their gates and get to destinations around the airport.
