Digital wayfinding, guest experience, concierge services, and 130 other “smart” features are coming to MSC Cruises’ MSC Meraviglia, a ship scheduled to start service in the Mediterranean this summer. The concept will be called MSC for Me and will involve fitting the ship with 16,000 points of connectivity, 700 digital access points, 114 interactive screens, and lock access to 2,244 staterooms. The technology has taken several years to develop with partners Samsung, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Deloitte Digital. In November, MSC Seaside, which serves the Caribbean year-round, is scheduled to debut MSC for Me; the cruise line has contracted MSC for Me on all 11 of their future ships.
