Delta Air Lines and Korean Air recently entered into a joint venture agreement and have begun coordinating services across the Pacific. The two SkyTeam members, partners for more than 20 years, will coordinate schedules and prices, jointly sell flights, and share revenues and costs.

Delta will now have access to 80 destinations in Asia (not including China) from Korean Air’s Seoul Incheon hub, while Korean Air will enjoy expanded access to Delta’s US network. The new agreement will enable the two airlines to compete with American Airlines and Japan Airlines, as well as United Airlines and All Nippon Airways. Depending on the success of the new venture, Delta may add a new service to Seoul Incheon in the future.
